Misturas carries the georradar to ACHE International Conference on Structures
Misturas has participated in the seventh edition of ACHE (Scientific and Technical Association for Structural Concrete) International Conference on Structures, conducting a presentation called ‘GPR inspection techniques in construction: Android application for signal processing` that analyses georradar (Ground Penetrating Radar, GPR) utilities as a non destructive technique (NDT) for inspection, study and control of concrete structures.
The event, organised by ACHE, was held in A Coruña last June, and experts from different countries participated presenting the latest developments in areas such as research into new construction materials, the execution of civil engineering and construction works, or the management and maintenance of structures, among others.
Misturas’ R&D Department delivered the presentation together with Abakal Ingenieros and specialists of the University Centre of the Defence of the Naval Academy of Marín, ascribed to the Universidade of Vigo. The presentation was focused on the development of a mobile application that allows a basic georradar electromagnetic signal processing in conventional smartphones, without having to resort systematically to commercial programs.
This presentation, along with the rest of communications presented in the conference, has been included in the 68th volume “Special Conference” of the prestigious journal “Hormigón y Acero”, published on a quarterly basis by ACHE.
