MISTURAS STARTS BUILDING BOUZAS’ NEW HEALTH CENTER IN VIGO
Misturas has started building Bouzas’ new health center, located in the old quarter of this traditional neighborhood in Vigo. The site belongs to the municipal government, which has ceded several lots for the construction of the new public facilities.
It is a new construction building that will be incorporated into the urban structure of the Alameda de Suárez Llanos and Bouzas’ historic center, in the Plaza de M. Diego Santos. The construction project (by Collarte Architects, SLP) includes remains from old buildings that were originally located in the same lot, which will be organized around an inner courtyard or “solaina”, thus resembling a traditional construction.
The lot where the old “Casa Guiancé” was located will house the entrance portico, the lobby and the reception, the customer service area, the medical records, the general medicine and infirmary examination rooms, the multi-purpose room and the waiting areas, restrooms, stairs to the first floor and elevators. The remains on St/ Ferreiros 7 will house the staff’s locker rooms and equipment (boilers, ventilation units, communications and power generator).
The building’s first floor is also set up around the inner courtyard, with both structures being connected by a glass passageway that will face the Plaza de Suárez Llanos: the area where the old St./ Ferreiros 7 used to be will hold a staff area with a lounge, library and conference room and the area where the former “Casa Guiancé” used to be will hold a waiting room, two general medicine and two infirmary examination rooms, as well as restrooms for public use.
Bouzas’ new health center will have an overall surface of more than 470 m2.
