MISTURAS, award-winner at the IV SME Awards of the Year in Ourense
Misturas has been one of the award-winners at the IV SME Awards of the Year in Ourense, held annually by Banco Santander and Spain’s Chamber of Commerce. These awards recognize the diligence and effort of small and medium enterprises and their contribution to building wealth and generating employment in our community. Misturas was awarded with the second prize, “Digitalization and Innovation 2020”, for their R&D project EMULCELL. This project develops new bituminous emulsions using nanocellulose to obtain improved and sustainable cold asphalt mixes. For this project, Misturas has worked closely with the Group of Roads, Geotechnics and Materials of the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) and the Technological Center for Multisectorial Research (CETIM), and has received the support of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (DCTI), a body of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness-Spanish Government (Ref. IDI-20171097). The Regional Minister of Rural Affairs at Xunta de Galicia, José González, handed over the awards at the ceremony, held in Ourense on November 19 and emphasized the “fundamental role” of Galician small and medium enterprises to confront the health and economic situation caused by COVID-19 (Pictures courtesy of Banco Santander).
