Misturas at the 14th Congress of Transport Engineering (CIT 2021)
Misturas participated in the 14th Congress of Transport Engineering (CIT 2021), held from 6th to 8th of July in the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Burgos. More than 250 experts participated combining on-site/online assistance due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The moto of this edition was R-Evolucionando el Transporte (“The R-Evolution of Transport”) and the aim was to analyze the current situation of the sector in its many facets; a sector that has been impacted by increasing costs and alien factors (traffic congestion, polluting gas emissions, fuel consumption, road accidents). New models and tools were presented in the CIT 2021 congress to improve environmental sustainability, focusing on mobility, traffic and road safety, modelling, public transport, new vehicles and logistics. The CIT 2021 provided solutions to revolutionize the transport and meet the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Misturas presented a communication called “New bituminous emulsions manufactured with nanocelluloses”, which summarizes the results of EMULCELL’s R&D project, developed by Misturas between 2017 and 2020 with the support of the Group of Roads, Geotechnics and Materials of the University of A Coruña (UDC) and the Technological Center CETIM. The EMULCELL project was co-financed by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) - Ministry of Science and Innovation (Ref. IDI-20171097).
The CIT is promoted by the Forum of Transport Engineering (FIT), an academic non-profit association whose objective is to call and organize the congress every two years. In addition, the FIT ensures the scientific-technical quality of its contents and orientation.
