The Santa Isabel Sports Complex improves accessibility and energy efficiency.
Commissioned by the Santiago de Compostela City Council, Misturas has completed a major renovation of the Santa Isabel Sports Complex, focusing primarily on upgrading the facility’s accessibility and energy efficiency.
The project included replacing the roof and perimeter eaves, renovating exterior window and door frames, installing an elevator, and completely reorganizing the access points to the complex.
As a result, the pavilion’s façade now opens directly onto the existing plaza, where a new set of stairs and a ramp lead visitors seamlessly into a ground-floor reception area and a first-floor cafeteria.
At the swimming pool, both the basin and the surrounding deck areas were fully waterproofed, which included a complete renovation of the flooring. To maximize energy savings, the original aluminum window and door frames were replaced. Finally, taking full advantage of the structural roof replacement, new solar panels were installed.
