Padre Feijoo School in Allariz (Ourense) starts the academic year with significant improvements in the building’s energy efficiency
The Pre-Primary and Primary School Padre Feijoo, in Allariz, has started the academic year 2020/2021 with a comprehensive energy redesign conducted by MISTURAS. The activities were aimed at significantly improving the energy efficiency of the school premises. To that end, the building envelope was renovated, thus incorporating thermal insulation elements into the external part of the enclosures (EFIS boards on the walls), as well as into the false ceilings and the roof space, thus replacing the original fiber cement roofing by other made up of sandwich panels with intermediate insulation. The exterior carpentry and the light fixtures were replaced with high efficiency equipment units and the roofing was extended by placing a new cover over the first floor, in order to roof over part of the playground.
The works, which were finished in September, included improvements in the heating system of the building (with the implementation of thermostatic control valves on all the radiators) and the remodeling of the northern main entrance, with a new double windbreaker door and renovated woodwork.
